Stress-free Flash Sessions

I just went at this sheet and had fun. I've been working on large scale pieces lately, so not much to show on the jammy jam tip. Just trying to get my art and convention preparation together. Hopefully I can update with some fire this week!

Today's Fun Stuff...

So my friend Carla came through for a fun Gypsy on her inner arm. And I finally got around to finishing some new (more serious) flash.

Daggers. Geishas. Geishas with Daggers.

Alex and his girlfriend Mary came through for some nice tattoos. They both were like, "What do you have drawn up that you'd like to do?"... I love it when people come through and get those pieces. I hook them up on the price, and they leave with a bitchin' tattoo. Win all around.

Hannya's are fun. Straight up.

Had fun jamming on this one. He's gonna eventually tie in more Japanese stuff. The three-eyed Tiger and lotus is on this arm as well, high up. This was a blast.

I also finished up a quick sheet of flash. I like doing these pseudo-traditional flames on stuff... so I said fuck it, and made a whole page with it implemented somehow. I had a nifty time with it.

Today went by like a breeze...

... Thanks in part to not doing any tattoos that suck in the subject matter department. I worked on some of my Ancient Egypt sleeve today and got to jam out on Sean's first tattoo. Here's a peek at that tatty. I sold a couple paintings today too. Today's been super satisfying. Hope everyone else's day is going good as well.

The day isn't over YET!

Let's squeeze one more in! Late Night - More drawing. Finished this guy. My take on those old traditional devils, brah. Tried to make as non-greaser as possible. Had fun with it.

Back Aches - Still Productive

So my back ached so bad I just couldn't go through with the day today. I needed to catch some much needed rest. I work 6 days a week at nine to twelve hours a piece. That's 60 hours a week hunched over doodling on someone's body. It takes a toll on you, and today I had enough. But even at home trying to relax, I still wind up having to make something. Here's today's endeavor. Hurray for drawing on the floor!

It's an Eaglepanthersharktigerpython. Oh and by the way, those are supposed to be piss finger waves. Yes, piss as in urine.

New Tattoos, Excited!

I got to finally finish the two-headed pegasus that I started on a while back. And once again, another fun jammer on my friend Jeff Money. Two very fun tattoos. Did I mention these were fun?

Slow Day, Confrontation, Fun Art

What a day today has been! A new shop opened up directly across the street from us today... inside a hair salon, on the same level... hell, a few feet away from a barber chair. The scratchers that work there came into our shop not to long ago SMOKING A CIGARRETTE IN OUR LOBBY! Needless to say, I was bored and ventured to their new establishment... after I spoke my mind, we were told to leave. And we did. But the message was sent loud and clear - We are legitimate tattooers doing rock solid work, and we won't stand for this industry to be screwed and exploited by hackjobs such as them. I can't stand and watch food get taken off of my girlfriend and forthcoming child's table because these guys are 100 feet from us giving people Hepatitis.

On another note... I did this post-angry encounter:

Cards are in!

So my business cards came in... THEY'RE SO TINY! I dig them though. They're straight and to the point. I only made a small run of these. With these particular cards, people have been asking me, "Why don't you have a phone number on there?" and the answer is simple. A.) I plan on doing some tattoo travelling, and it's easier to just email me for an appointment rather than call. And B.) I do not want to tattoo clients that can't use an email account. It's 2010, give me a break.

I've been working on a lot of sleeves lately and it's been hard to get fresh photos of individual jammers. A client came in today with a graphic off of an Affliction shirt. I (being the conscionable tattooer that I am) suggested he didn't want a t-shirt design tattooed on him and suggested my take on the design. Here's what we came up with on the inner arm.

This Was Fun!

Just got this done on the homie Jared. Thanks man!

New Painting and a healed Tatty...

I finished up a piece I made for Soba at Workhorse Irons. The dude went above and beyond my expectations on retuning (more like rebuilding) my machine for me, so I figured I'd show my appreciation and send him a painting for the good work. Here it is...

I also was able to get a healed photo of my friends geisha I did on his arm.
